Sisters Menodora, Metrodora and Nymphadora hailed in Ancient Greece as virgin martyrs who devoted their lives to serving Christ.
The holy sisters chose not to marry and spent the majority of their days in fasting and prayer until they were ultimately tortured and killed, one by one, by order of the Governor.
It's believed that after executing the sisters, the Governor himself was struck and killed by lightning.
